Since its beginnings, Interpunct has specialised in audiovisual translation, both in the field of subtitling and dubbing.
We work with national and regional studios and channels, translating, subtitling and adapting films and series, including songs, for dubbing.
Dubbing
Our dubbing translation service includes laying out the dubbing scripts and adjusting the texts to the characters’ mouths. Therefore, we provide a ready-to-go script so that the dubbing actors can straight into a recording studio to lend their voices to the characters.
Since 2009 we have translated hundreds of short films, programmes, series, fiction and animated films, for both adult and children.
Subtitling
For subtitles to be of high quality, they must be adapted to a comfortable reading speed for the viewer. Subtitles that are too fast or too slow negatively affect the viewer’s experience. As well as reading speed, we also take into account factors such as the type of camera shot and dialogue rhythm when segmenting subtitles.
Song Lyrics
Many of the series we translate include songs that need to be translated and adapted. This task requires huge creativity and skill to rhyme the lyrics and achieve an optimal result in the target language.
Furthermore, lyricists need to be musically literate so that the final translated song is catchy and works as well as the original version.
